Biography

兵庫県西宮市出身。

2018年、葵トリオのピアニストとして、第67回ミュンヘン国際音楽コンクールピアノ三重奏部門で日本人初の優勝。そのほか、第2回ロザリオ・マルシアーノ国際ピアノコンクール、第10回パデレフスキ国際ピアノコンクール、第16回リヨン国際室内楽コンクールなど多数受賞。また葵トリオとして、第28回青山音楽賞「バロックザール賞」、第29回日本製鉄音楽賞、第22回ホテルオークラ音楽賞、第34回ミュージック・ペンクラブ音楽賞を受賞している。

日本、ヨーロッパ、アメリカ、アジア諸国においてソロや室内楽、オーケストラとの共演で好評を博している。また国際音楽祭NIPPON、ラ・フォル・ジュルネ TOKYO、東京・春・音楽祭、シンガポール室内楽フェスティバル、ホノルル室内楽シリーズをはじめとする国内外の音楽祭に出演するほか、NHK-FM「リサイタル・パッシオ」、NHK-BS「クラシック倶楽部」など、メディアへの出演も多い。これまでに師の有森博とのピアノデュオによる「春の祭典」や、7枚の葵トリオによるアルバムなどをはじめ多数のCDがリリースされており、いずれも各媒体において高く評価されている。

兵庫県立西宮高等学校音楽科を卒業後、東京藝術大学音楽学部を首席で卒業。その後、同大学院音楽研究科修士課程を経て博士後期課程を修了し、博士号（音楽）を取得。明治安田クオリティオブライフ文化財団海外音楽研修生としてミュンヘン音楽演劇大学大学院に留学したほか、サントリーホール室内楽アカデミーでも研鑽を積んだ。
これまでに緒方裕子、片山優陽、青井彰、有森博の各氏に師事。

Kosuke Akimoto, pianist, Doctor of Musical Arts

Kosuke Akimoto was born in 1993 at Hyogo, Japan and graduated from Tokyo University of
the Arts.
He is a member of the Aoi Trio, which won the first prize at the prestigious 67th ARD International music competition in Munich, 2018. In addition, he won the second prize at the International Rosario Marciano piano competition in 2010, the Special prize at the International Paderewski piano competition in 2016, the third prize at the International Lyon chamber music competition in 2021 and more.

Akimoto has performed in many cities around the world including Tokyo, Berlin, Munich, Hamburg, Vienna, Warsaw, Prague, Seoul, Singapore and more as a solo pianist, soloist of orchestra and as a chamber music player. He recorded many CDs with his trio and other chamber music player. These CDs received prestigious reviews. The latest recording is “Piano Trio” which released in 2023 on Hänssler Classics.

Since April 2019, he is based in Germany and Japan, and currently studies under Prof. Dirk Mommertz at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich.
